Susan has perfected the art of fused cabochons and lampwork beads. They are used as a main focal point on her jewelry or as an embellishment. Lampwork is a type of glasswork that uses a torch to melt clear and colored glass. The glass is formed by blowing and shaping with a variety of tools and hand movements. Fused cabochons are layers of glass fused together in a kiln.

Specialty wire art jewelry is very much about putting different components together in a beautiful way. An elegant wire necklace, bracelet, or anklet accented with fused cabochons or lampwork beads to enhance the focal point. Wire sculpted jewelry handmade by Susan is fashioned by bending, wrapping, coiling, and twisting copper, red brass, and/or sterling silver wire and adding her handcrafted beads. Collectors of Susan’s jewelry, made with her beads, have found them to be everyday favorites for casual wear and ‘special’ events. Susan's collection will be showcased at Reimer's Jewelry Store in Oshkosh, WI for Artwalk on May 1st, 2010. |
